Zipper Post Cards and Lunch Box Notes

Hi there! How are YOU? Getting ready for a fun weekend? Wow I have been busy for weeks and weeks. I think a FUN weekend for me this weekend would be to stay home and craft all weekend long. So many crazy things going on in my life right now. I'm ready for life to settle down a bit. I am ready for a break! Whew.

So enough of my whiny pee pants and on to some fun. I made something fun with my zipper SVG files x6 and some FUN My Thoughts Exactly stamps. I don't know what to really call them so I am calling them zipper post cards or lunch box notes. So here is how they work. They are like a basic card, but the card seals to itself so you don't have to use an envelope to mail a little note to a friend. You can fold them 2 ways. First you can fold with pattern on the outside and put a label mailer on the outside with the recipients address or the little "Thanks" like I did below. Can you visualize how that would work if you just remove the "Thanks" and put the address on the label? OR you can fold it the opposite way (If you are using patterned paper (which I think is the most darling and so much more fun) with the white on the outside and the pattern inside. Here are just a couple little quickies I put together for you.

This is before I sealed it together.
Itty Bitty Tippy* When you seal the post card only put adhesive on the bottom part of the flap so you have plenty of space to write inside your post card. You do NOT want to put the adhesive on both sides of the zipper like you would normally with the zippers x6.

*Warning* terrible handwriting...Yes I have horrible writing because
of my injury to my right side....Please ignore..... Moving on....

The "Wishing you everything wonderful in life today and always"
sentiment is from  My Thoughts Exactly Big Thoughts

You can't really tell in the picture here, but this one is a mini lunch box note. It's so cute in person. I bet the kiddos would love this and be a huge hit at school....even hubby would love a sweet little love note. *Wink*
The "Just a Note" sentiment is from My Thoughts Exactly More Big Thoughts.

So how did I make these you ask? Super easy peasy.

First you need my Paper Zippers SVG File x6
(Not the envelopes, well you need those
anyway for other projects*Wink* but not for this project)
 here

1. Choose the style zipper you want to use.
I used Zipper 5 skinny small for my notes cards I think this is the best one to use especially if you want to mail to a friend. The small will not get snagged in the post.

2. Measure the zipper rectangle and Create a 2nd plain rectangle from basic shapes with the same dimensions as the zipper piece.

3. Lineup both rectangles side by side(like a card) making sure they are just barely touching with the zipper at one end not in the middle. Now just UNION together.
If there is still a line showing in the middle go to UNDO
and try getting the two rectangles closer to each other and re-union.
4. Cut!

Super duper easy! If you have any more questions or problems you can always email me and I can help you. Thanks everyone have a fabulous weekend!

Runway Inspired No.10 -Interactive Fun

Hi everyone! It seems like I have been gone for ......ever! I got some play time in today and wanted to share this ultra clean and simple interactive card I made for this weeks RIC#10! I was honored last week as Queen of Couture! This was my first challenge win! I was so excited!

Let me tell you today's project might look clean and simple, but it was messy and detailed! This card took forever. The mechanism was not as easy as I thought, but I had to keep redoing pieces because they wouldn't cut straight or I would get a spot of glue somewhere it did not belong. So when you see clean and simple know that it is not as simple as you may think. I think it takes much much longer than fancy cards.

The sentiment reads "YOU need to remember to never, give up."

Hope you are having a beautiful weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

Something Special

I received a wonderful email the other day from Laura and Sarah Sonntag and I wanted to share their beautiful projects with you.  Sarah volunteers at a homeless shelter every Saturday.  Which I think is so neat and amazing! A few Saturdays ago she took her crafting goodies to share with the women to make some darling Easter projects. They made some of the cutest little Easter Pop Up cards using the new Large Pop Up Slider SVG I just had to share with you! I was so touched when I saw the picture! I love that Sarah volunteers every Saturday and that she used her time to teach  people about paper crafting! Way to go ladies! Thank you for sharing ladies!

My Thoughts Exactly April Release Inspiration

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I played around with the new April Release Stamps from My Thoughts Exactly to make a fun interactive easel card. I used the More Mini Thoughts Set for my sentiment today. It is awesome for smaller spaces and little tags. The sentiments are so cute and small, but stamp so NICE and crisp!
MTE has the bundle packs with both Mini Thoughts, Big Thoughts Or all 4 for special prices!

.

You might have seen my card for today in the sneak peek I did with the Skinny Pop Up Slider SVG tutorial. If not you can see it here in action. For this card to make the easel I used the Small Horizontal Skinny long Pull option.  The Mini Thoughts Fits perfectly inside the small slider.

I used the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes paper collection and the trims from the February Kit of the month at Pumpkin Spice for this card for my sweet pregnant crafting friend. I wanted to make her a special little congratulations card.

Here is a cute little last minute zipper card I made for today! Seriously cannot stop playing with these stamps.
They are perfect with my new SVG's and I'm having so much fun!
I used More Mini Thoughts for this zipper card.

Here is a picture before I assembled everything together so I could show you the sentiment hidden under the zipper.
 It says-
Just a Note to brighten your day.

Make sure to check out my fellow DT members projects today too for more inspiration!

My Thoughts Exactly April Release

Welcome to our
If you are here from Kendra's - http://luv2scrapnmakecards.blogspot.com/ Blog you are in the right place!
I have been making lots and lots of projects with the new collections I have been dying to show you! Today is finally the day!
These are so versatile!

There are 4 new sets this month.
If you can't decide which ones you want or need....let me help you decide it's really easy....You NEED all 4! Seriously they are a must have! Every time I get my new MTE sets I think how did I craft without these before! haha

my new Skinny Sliders SVG collection for the first 2 cards.
I did a little Youtube video to show you how these work and how to assemble.

Just a Note
To brighten your day
btw isn't that font the cutest? It's so cute and unique!
I used More Big Thoughts On this One.

I used Big Thoughts on this one. It says-
 Wishing You
A day wrapped in happiness

I used More Big Thoughts on this one-
Echo Park Little Girl Collection
I did one of my biggest no nos on this card. I stamped it after I assembled everything. Because of the way the card opens it was really hard for me to stamp this because it was raised up off the table. I think it still turned out cute though. But next time I will stick to my own rules of stamping BEFORE assembling.
It says
Congratulations mommy to be

Here is a little side by side I did to show the size difference between the More Big Thoughts and More Mini Thoughts. The kiss is just show scale. Plus I wanted some chocolate. :) The paper is a standard A2 size 4.25"x5.50"

This is a little cheat sheet to show you how the sentiments can be placed and changed around. Isn't that AWESOME?
