New Trick to Cutting Inexpensive Felt with Your Wafer Dies!!!!!

I discovered something REALLY cool lately! I have been wanting to share this with you and I finally had a chance to make a quick little video tutorial. Do you like felt?
I love the look of felt cut with dies, but I don't like the price of the felt I have to use. There is expensive wool felt that the wafer dies cut really nice and there is the ecofi inexpensive felt that the wafer dies do not cut. But that is all about to change!!! I have a new technique using wafer dies to cut inexpensive ecofi felt and it turns out just as crisp, clean and beautiful as expensive wool felt!!!!  Watch my video how to! Hope you enjoy! Happy New Year! Stay safe! I would love to see what you make with this technique!!!

Meet Mr. Snowman

Hi Crafters! Happy Tuesday! Today is my Pumpkin Spice Store project day! I played with the Echo Park Holly Jolly Collection and the My Minds Eye Lush 2 collection. I love the two collections together! It really turned out cheery and a bit retro!

My little Twine pom pom must be one of the tiniest pom poms ever! My mom was with me while I was making it and she kept saying "I don't think that is going to work, I don't think that is going to work" Well....... it worked! And I love that little pom pom.! I used Maraschino Twinery Twine!
Thank you for stopping by!

Fabulous Guest Designer

Hi crafters! Today I want to introduce you to one of my craft girls! Her name is Julia. We met about a year ago and ever since we met we have been craftin fools together!
I wanted to share two projects she did recently. The first project she did uses my Advent Calendar SVG file. I absolutely love the red cardstock base she used. I cut it out for her and let me tell you it cut like a dream! On top of the red base she used the Crate Paper Peppermint Collection for the embellishing. We sort of worked on it together like the other two calendars I posted a week ago. I really had a good time working on these projects with her. She is extremely talented and full of ideas! She always inspires me and I know she will inspire you too!

And HERE is MY big surprise! Julia came to our house for Thanksgiving and she surprised me with this amazing advent calendar! Is this not the cutest advent calendar you have ever seen? It has literally made my entire Christmas season! Every morning I get to open a cute latte cup and each morning I am thrilled with my little gifts! This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me! I absolutely love it!!!

Ok that's everything for today! Happy Sunday!! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to let Julia know what you think of her amazing projects!!

Need Tags? My Thoughts Exactly Inspiration Thursday!

Hi crafters! Today is My Thoughts Exactly inspiration time! I used the new Holly Jolly Tags set for today's projects!  (Just in case you missed the memo, these are compatible with svg files that come with the sets!!! They are AMAZING)
Is everyone ready for Christmas and the Holidays? I have a confession to make, I haven't even put up a tree this year! I did put up a cute little mini tree in my craft room(take a look below), but that is all! shhhh don't tell anyone. I have however been going crazy with my new stamps from My Thoughts Exactly! These are so fun and easy! The first two cards are mini 3"x3" cards for gift bags or boxes! The first one is my favorite! I know I have mentioned this before, but in case you are new to SugarGem I love glitter and embossing powder. I realized last week that I had not been using enough! This post is full of glitter....so much it might even get on you through your computer....you have been warned!!!

These are all super simple, but I hope this shows how darn cute these are basically by themselves with just a little bling! It doesn't take much to make a WOW! The red is my favorite red glitter embossing powder! For those of you that don't like the mess of glitter this is the thing for you!
Next I wanted to try the vintage look with these tags. I haven't seen anyone do this yet. Most of you know I struggle with the vintage style. I love the look, but have the hardest time creating anything vintage. But after making these I had an AHA moment. Just adding some stickles to the top really makes the vintage style pop for me! I think that is what I have been missing. The glitter adds the SugarGem!

Before I say goodbye for today I would love to know what YOUR favorite holiday decoration is? You know that one decoration you pull out every year from the box that makes you smile from ear to ear! Mine is this little mini lime green tree my mom gave me with pink ornaments! It's so funky, but so my style with feathers, bling and all!!!! And I don't know if you can see it, but my newest addition is a PINK CUPCAKE SANTA ornament my sweetest crafting friend Julia gave me!!!! She knows me all to well! :)

Here is a link to the Youtube video Alyssa did from My Thoughts Exactly showing you how to use the stamps with the SVG files just in case you were wondering! ;)

Your feedback is important to me!. Have a great weekend!

And just a disclaimer I am a bit nervous because this is all new to me. I started off without the face intro, but my fiancee said it was weird you couldn't see my face at all in the beginning so I added that later.....

The Big Advent Project! Plus WINNER !

I know I haven't been posting much in the last month. I have been busy busy busy with a brand new SVG file I made. Back in October my cousin's girlfriend sent me a picture of the Kaisercraft wood advent calendar drawer set. I am SURE you have seen them if you craft! She said she wanted to make something like that for the kiddos and wanted my help. The thing was those wooden boxes were a bit pricey and out of the budget as my cousin wasn't working at the time. So I set out to design something special. I actually surprised myself and made an entire paper drawer and shelf set out of only paper! I really couldn't believe I did this. I started working on this and was so excited to share this with everyone and then all of a sudden a ton of other companies started releasing similar SVG's so I sort of got discouraged and set it aside.

My cousins girlfriend came over to my house a few times to work on the project, but we never finished it because on a good note my cousin got a job which meant no more time to craft. I bet you know how that goes?

I started making another one for my mom and grandma, but again I didn't finish it.

On Weds my very special crafting friend, Julia, came by and helped me finish BOTH of the calendars! I really wanted to have them finished by December 1st and WE did it! I can't thank her enough for her help!
And now I can finally share my creation with all of you!
I used my one of my favorite paper collections by My Minds Eye. It's called I believe! All embellishments are from the collection or from dies and punches, but the drawers and shelves are my SVG. I am so in love with this paper I bought 3!
Hope you like it! The first one is my cousins. She wanted it kind of fun and funky so here is what we came up with! Remember EVERYTHING IS PAPER! Completely handmade! :)

I also cut out little squares for the inside of the drawers. I love having little secret squirrel surprises on my projects. The squares were stamped with little surprise Christmas characters and sayings so when you open the drawer there is a little unexpected surprise!

The 2nd drawer set is almost identical, but it is more clean and simple! Julia is very talented at clean and simple so she did all the embellishing of the drawers for me! Isn't it great?

I can tell you that this Calendar is a bit complicated. I just can't decide if I should sell it? Part of the problem is I really don't have a way to do a tutorial for you and it might be too complicated without a tutorial. What do you think? If you are interested in purchasing this SVG please email at lovesugargem@gmail.com. It does make an amazing gift for someone special! You will blow them away that you made everything!

Today is also giveaway day for the My Thoughts Exactly Gift Certificate! The lucky winner is Jennifer! Please contact me at lovesugargem@gmail.com
