SugarGem's Girly TP Mini Album

Ok so here is my first TP mini album. Yes that is a Toilet Paper mini. haha
When I asked my family to save toilet paper rolls they looked at me like I was crazy. This is the first project in a while that I actually like! Thanks for stopping bye and checking it out! These are so fun and easy to make. I think you will love making them.

SugarGem's mini purse tag and pump pocket with leather brad.

SugarGem's mini tag and pocket with cute red brad

SugarGem's mini tag and pocket  with lacy ribbon.

SugarGem's Mini tag and pocket with pearl brad

If you want to make one of these mini's I recommend checking out Youtube. There are lots and lots of tutorials on these little gems. I prefer this one because she uses a binding rather than just putting the rings through the tp rolls.  The binding makes it look finished and a little fancier. I haven't done much with my tags I think I'm going to leave them plain for now to add photos. They would be cute inked up too. But you guys know I like things a little more simple! :)
I painted my rolls white with acrylic paint then covered them with All About the Girls mini paper stack by DCWV. The binding I used Fiskars scallop border punch. I made the crinkle ribbon myself with my stamp pads.  Special thanks to my good friend Jan for sending me the ribbon I just love it! I made the tags with light weight white chipboard with basic tags in SCAL.

If I can inspire one person today I have done my job!

Fun Envelope Puzzle Flip Book

I have been working on multiple projects lately and can't seem to finish a single one. I am working on a recipe album, a sweets album and my mini flip pocket book. I wanted to share my little envelope flip pocket book with you. It's really fun to make. You can find the YouTube tutorial under Tracy's Treasures right here.  This book is the perfect way to use your mini 6.5"x4.5" mini paper stacks or scraps. It's all one piece that folds in and out almost like a puzzle.
Front

Back

I cannot decide if this is finished. I prefer more simple styles not overly embellished. I think this paper is so beautiful on it's own. I just added a little embossing and glitter here and there. I have a problem finishing projects like this, but this is my first little mini and I am having a ton of fun working with this.

Easter Easel Card for the Creative Team at RSMobley Designs

Hi everyone! Here is my Easter Easel card I made for the Creative Team at RSMobley's Designs! I used 3 different collections with this card.
Here are the following collections you will need.

1. April Easter RM00099 Here
2. Flower Blossoms 1 RM00143 Collection Here
3. May Flowers Collection RM00080 Here

What you will need in addition to RSMobley's collections
1. Cardstock and paper choices
2. Scissors
3. Scoring tool
4. Glue
5. Border punch
6. Pop Dots/Dimensionals
7. Ribbon
8. Hole Punch
9. Silver embossing powder
10. Embossing ink
11. Embossing heat tool
12. Paper trimmer
13. Dry embossing folder
14. Embossing machine like Cuttlebug or what ever you have will work! :)

To make the Easel card

1. Trim cardstock 8.5"x5.5" this will be your base for the easel card.
2. Score along the 8.5" side at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8". The picture below is what it should like after you score the paper.

3. Trim another piece of cardstock at 5.5" x 4.25" This will be the back that attaches to the cardstock. I prefer to use cardstock. This is the part that will be sitting upright so I like it to be strong to hold everything up nice and sturdy.

4. Trim another piece to go on top of the 5.5"x 4.25" at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". I like to dry emboss this piece to give the card some texture. Glue this piece on top of your 5.5" x 4.25" piece.

5. You can glue your cardstock base to the 5.5" x 4.24" together now then embellish  or what I like to do is put together everything first then glue to my card base.  Here is a picture of where to glue your card base and what it should like.
Sorry my pictures are terrible I tried over and over to get some better pictures, but nothing was going right so this is it! :)

6. I like to trim a piece of paper to cover the front portion of the flat piece in front of the card. I like to cut a piece at 2.75 "x 5.5". Glue this down to the front bottom (This is the plain blue strip under the yellow strip in my picture).

7. Then choose another color or patterned paper cut at approx 1 7/8"+ x 5.5". Using your border punch, punch your design on both sides of the strip (this would be the yellow part in my pictures with the ribbon).

8. Take the piece you just punched and add ribbon or some embellishment to the top or leave plain. It's pretty just punched with a border punch too!

9. Get your dimensionals or pop dots (that's what I call them). Put one on each end then at least one in the center of the strip, but you can put as many as you would like!

10. Place this strip approx 1+ inches back from the front edge of the card. This will keep the easel up right! See my picture above to see how I layered the strips if you are at all confused. But really it's super simple!

Now for what I did with RSMobley's Collections I sized these all at "Keep proportions"

Blossoms collection-

1. I cut out the 5th flower in the Blossoms collection to create the Sun. I cut 1 at 3.63" and another at 3.05". I used basic shapes for the circle and cut that at 2.25". I put the smaller flower behind the larger flower so that it would like a sun.

April Easter-
1. Cut 2 strips of the grass at 5.42"
2. I sized the bunny to 2.13"x 3.37" (keeping proportions) and all the pieces of the bunny and sized them fit with that size.
3. I cut 6 stems and leaves. 4 at .75" and 2 at 1.25".

May Flowers
1. Cut the fence at 5.55"
2. I cut the flowers at the standard size.

Basic fonts
I cut out the Happy Easter with Arial Black 1". Then copied and pasted another set to make the shadow. I combined them together Shadow blacked out at 7" and welded.

A Few Little extras
1. I cut the right side off the fence to create 2 pieces.
2. I punch out about 20 tiny circles and laminated them all together to create a knob for the fence.
3. I rolled the knob around in the embossing ink then embossed it with silver embossing powder then glued it to the fence. (see my picture above to see where and how I did this)
4. I used my pop dots on the grass to give the card more dimension.

If I can inspire one person today I have done my job!

Door Hanger For Cards and Goodies with Free Easy Tutorial

Leave a card on your friends door. Do you have a bunch of friends not feeling well lately? Leave them a card and a pack of Theraflu or some cough crops with out waiting for the mailman and/or contaminating yourself with germs. I have wanted to design a little door hanger to hold cards for a long time. Too many times I have gone to drop off a card and realized I didn't have anywhere to put it. (cuz you know it's ILLEGAL to drop a card in the mailbox without mailing it lol) So here you go!
Now we all have something to put our cards in when dropping bye a friends house.  I made the hanger large enough to add a few other goodies or to put a heavily embellished card inside! I made this abour 2 months ago and wanted to decorate one with more embellies, but never got around to it so here ya go! Hope you guys like it!

It's super cute with just a card, but you could take a friend who isn't feeling so well a couple get well goodies.
Here are some ideas. All of these items tuck neatly inside along with a card.

I have attached a little tutorial and dimensions for you so you can make one too for yourself or someone special. This is my gift to you. I am not charging for my template. All I ask from you is that you do not sell the design and if you use my design please give credit where credit is due. I ask that you link to my blog and let everyone know where you got the idea! That's it! Thank you for checking my creation out! Have fun and enjoy.

Cut your favorite paper as follows (I recommend using double sided paper with this because of the way it folds you will see the backside of your paper along the sides of the door hanger when completed)
1 piece 12"x 8 3/4"
1 piece 6" x 4 3/4"

Score the larger 12"x 8 3/4" as follows
Along the 8 3/4" score both sides at 1"and 2"
Along the 12" at 1", 2" and 8"( at the 8" score do not score all the way across paper. Only score 2 inches in up to the 2" line on each side please see pictures below)

After cutting away the shaded areas this is what you should have left see below.
Using any punch you like punch the top of the 6" x 4 3/4". Making it easier to pull out the card from the holder plus it looks cute!.
Fold along score lines and glue. Using an oval punch or circle punch, punch a hole in the top for the hanger. It should look like picture below.

Glue small 6" x 4 3/4" to folded piece and Voile you are done! You could embellish more or just go simple.

I also recommend cutting a little slit along the side of the door knob hole just incase your friends door knob is enclosed.
And just in case you were wondering I used the K & Co Sweet Nectar paper collection.

Adorable Box Card

This is NOT my design, but these are my dimensions.  I made this for the Card of the Week Challenge and loved it so much I wanted to share it with all of you. Here is the tutorial we were given.  It's so adorable! When I put it together with her dimensions the flaps weren't even and it was larger than I wanted. I wanted a regular A2 size so the finished product would fit into a standard envelope. I also wanted to be able to use a standard 8.5"x 11" sheet of paper instead of a 12"x12". So I re-measured everything up and here is what I came up with. Make sure to watch her video first then use my dimensions to build the card.

Here is what you will need:
  1. Paper
  2. Scoring tool
  3. Scissors
  4. Glue
  5. Pencil (to make the mark for the point)
1. Start with a sheet of paper measuring
    10 1/4" x 8 1/2"

2. Score along the 10 1/4" side at- 2 1/8", 3 5/8", 6 5/8", 8 1/8"
3. Flip and Score along the 8 1/2" side at 1.5" and 7"

I also have the measurements if you would like to mat the front flaps and the inside insert! Yes, I did this all for you, my readers cuz I luv ya! :)

1. Middle- 2 at 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"
2. Top- 2 at 1 3/4" x 5 1/8"
3. Inside- 2 7/8" x 5 3/8"

It's so adorable when finished you will love it.

3D Easter Eggs RSMobley Creative Team Project

Here is my little 3D Easter egg design I made for the Creative Team over at RSMobley Designs with Sharon's April Easter Collection RM00099. You can find the collection Here.
These are so fun to make! Hope you guys like them!

Here is what you will need.
  1. April Easter Bunny collection
  2. Scissors
  3. Glitter
  4. Glue
  5. Paper
1. Cut 2 egg bases and 4 top layers any size you prefer them to be.
*You will need a top layer for both sides of each egg.
I made mine about 4.5"-6"and staggered them.

2. Adhere your design layers to your egg bases.
*tip*Make sure you cover the designed layers very well and evenly with glue because you will be cutting them and you don't want them the fray.

3. Cut both eggs like the photo above.
(I didn't show the top layer(design) already glued in the photos because it was hard to see where I cut the eggs with the design on top. You want to make sure that when you make this cut that the layers are already assembled)The cut should be half way down from the top of one and half way up from the bottom of the other. You want to cut a tiny piece out not just cut a slit. This will make the eggs sit better together especially if you decide to add glitter.

4. Cut off the bottom of each egg making sure they are even. This will allow the eggs to sit upright on their own and sit evenly on a table or plate.

5. After you have glued all the layers and made the cuts you can assemble them now or make them all pretty and sparkly with glitter.

If you do want to do the glitter here is what I did.
I used the Elmers craft bond adhesive spray on each side of the eggs to adhere the glitter and it worked alright. I recommend using an old box to spray in so you don't make a mess in your craft area. The spray adhesive is very messy if it isn't contained.
Then I sprinkled and tapped the glitter off and voile I was done!

I can't decide if I like this craft spray yet. I'm not sure if it holds as well as other methods. I will keep you posted on new and different glue methods.

If you don't like glitter because it's too messy have you tried embossing glitter? It is very pretty and glittery but not nearly as messy as standard glitter. When I want a more sugary glitter look I like use real glitter.
But the embossing glitter is super pretty too.

These would also be adorable with a hole punched in the top with some cute ribbon to dangle from something.

Rockin the Neutrals - Little Step Card

Some of you may have noticed that I like working with BRIGHT cheery colors. I really gravitate towards the bright spectrum. However I do love the look of the vintage, neutral distressed style, but never seem to know how to do it. SVGCuts new collection that I told you about yesterday has this AWESOME step card too. I wanted to see if I could pull of the neutral tones. I think it turned out prettier than I was expecting (I kept grabbing my brights and hesitantly putting them back). I love this card because it's so versatile. I think it could make an awesome Halloween card! The flowers in this collection could also be really neat on a Hawaiian theme project.  The more I work with this collection the more I am loving it and seeing the endless possibilities.

Happy Saturday!
